DIGITAL GIVING:
Hopefully you have seen the credit card reader which has recently been installed at the back of St Joseph’s church. Sadly there was a small deficit last year in our parish funds and therefore it needs to be as easy as possible for parishioners to contribute to our parish.
There are now two new ways of cashless giving
1. It’s very easy to use the card reader at the back of church, clear instructions are
with the machine,

2. You can use the QR code in church and on the website, just scan the code and
follow the simple instructions

TOUR DE HALLAM CHALLENGE:
Between 2nd and 6th June this year, Ruth Sheldon, Director of St. Wilfrid’s Centre has taken up the challenge to cycle the diocese visiting as many parishes as possible to give a talk about the centre and to ask for donations. While she is doing this attendees at the centre will match her miles on an exercise bike in the centre. The aim is to raise funds to help towards the running costs of the centre. Knitters are asked to knit a few rows of yellow and black wool that Ruth will collect on her visits and which will be tied to a frame to make a bee to add to the centre’s cascade of flowers for everyone to see.
LIVE SIMPLY FEBRUARY:
There will be a collection of pre-loved clothes in good condition in church during February. All the clothes will be taken to the Clothing Bank who provide free clothes parcels for people in need. See the information on the leaflet in church

VOLUNTEER WELCOMERS NEEDED FOR PADLEY CHAPEL:
Historic Padley Chapel near Grindleford is a Designated Pilgrim Place in the Diocese of Hallam for the 2025 Jubilee Year. Therefore, more people are needed to help with the Chapel opening on Sunday afternoons and the occasional weekday during the “Pilgrim Year of Hope”. You will be part of a team of 2, 3 or 4 volunteers and will be given full guidance and support.
