ST. JOSEPH’S HAS ACHIEVED THE LIVE SIMPLY AWARD !!!

This is Great News, we are the first in Hallam Diocese to achieve the award, which is a remarkable achievement for our parish.

The award is in recognition for our response to Pope Francis’ call to Live Simply, Sustainably with Creation and in Solidarity with the Poor. Over the last two years we have raised awareness and taken practical action such as improving the insulation in the presbytery loft, changing to recycled paper and environment friendly cleaning products. We have encouraged wildlife in the church gardens and made efforts to appreciate nature more. We have campaigned on many issues such as Fixing the Food System, Human Rights, Drop the Debt. We have raised money for many causes including CAFOD, Foodbank, Street Children, Mary’s Meals and Macmillan.

Many thanks to the Live Simply team and all the parish who have responded to the challenge with such enthusiasm.

The Award will be presented on 19th November at the Sunday Mass, please save the date
